Parallel versus antiparallel interfacial coupling in exchange biased Co/FeF2.
By using the surface and element specificity of soft x-ray magnetic dichroism we provide direct experimental evidence for two different types of interfacial uncompensated Fe moments in exchange biased Co/FeF2 bilayers. Some moments are pinned and coupled antiparallel to the ferromagnet (FM). They give rise to a positive exchange bias and vanish above T(N) = 78 together with the antiferromagnet ...
متن کاملInterfacial Co nanolayers for enhancing interlayer exchange coupling in antiferromagnetic interlayer exchange coupling media
Significant enhancement of the interlayer coupling strength has been achieved by depositing Co nanolayers on both sides of the Ru layer in a conventional CoCrPt/Ru/CoCrPt antiferromagnetic interlayer exchange coupling structure. The interlayer coupling increases nearly linearly from 0.13 to 0.8 erg/cm and then levels off with an increase in Co thickness. Substrate bias was found to be very harm...
متن کاملDistamycin-stabilized antiparallel-parallel combination (APC) DNA.
The formation of Antiparallel-Parallel-Combination (APC) DNA, a liner duplex with a segment of parallel-stranded (ps) helix flanked by conventional B-DNA, was tested with a number of synthetic oligonucleotides. The groove-binding ligand distamycin A (DstA) was used to stabilize the ps segment comprising five A x T base pairs. Two drug molecules bound per APC, one in each of the two equivalent g...
متن کاملInterfacial exchange coupling and magnetization reversal in perpendicular [Co/Ni]N/TbCo composite structures
Interfacial exchange coupling and magnetization reversal characteristics in the perpendicular heterostructures consisting of an amorphous ferrimagnetic (FI) TbxCo(100-x) alloy layer exchange-coupled with a ferromagnetic (FM) [Co/Ni]N multilayer have been investigated. As compared with pure TbxCo(100-x) alloy, the magnetization compensation composition of the heterostructures shift to a higher T...
